Chimney Rock State Park Located in Chimney Rock Village, the 1,000 acre state park is nestled in Hickory Nut Gorge between the towns of Bat Cave and Lake Lure.  The park features mountain hiking trails for all ages and abilities.  From its top, you will see 75-mile panoramic views of Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure.  Scenes from the movie "Last of the Mohicans" were filmed in and around the park.
Chimney Rock Village Within the village you will find an array of small shops including gift shops, restaurants, ice cream and fudge shops, handmade craft shops, sandwich and pizza shops, general merchandise, outdoor gear and gem mining.
Chimney Rock Gem Mine Rock and minerals of all kinds have been found including Aquamarine, Emerald, Ruby, Garnet, Peridot, Quartz, Agate, Hematite, Amethyst, Sodalite, and many more. Children are fascinated by these stones and attendants are on hand to assist them in identifying, classifying, and educating each and every one.
Coffee on the Rocks! Your one stop coffee shop located on Main Street in Chimney Rock Village along the river.  They offer fresh brewed coffee, espresso, blended ice coffee, smoothies, and teas.  Their coffee and espresso beans are ground fresh daily.  An assortment of delicious desserts, muffins and pastries are also offered.  Additionally, have your "old time photo" taken in a wild west saloon setting.
Lake Lure Adventure Company Activities include water skiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, boat rentals, and guided fishing trips on lake lure.  Open by reservation year-round.
Lake Lure Scenic Boat Tours Covered boat tours with guides showcasing local attractions and landmarks such as the locations used during the filming of "Dirty Dancing".
Boat and Canoe Rentals The Lake Lure Marina offers pontoon boat rentals, hydro-bikes, kayaks, paddle boats and canoes for rent.
Beach & Water Park at Lake Lure Surrounded by beautiful mountains, the beach area offers swimming and relaxation under the sun.  The water park provides soaking games, a water slide, water cannons and water wars for the kids.
Great Golf Courses A number of championship golf courses can be found in the area including: Bald Mountain Golf Course, Apple Valley Golf Course and Lake Lure Municipal Golf Course.
Chimney Rock Adventure Golf Miniature golf on a naturally landscaped course situated along 300' of the Rocky Broad River.  You'll enjoy the sounds of the river and views of the mountains while you play 18 holes of challenging mini golf.
Horseback Riding Cedar Creek Stables is a public trail riding facility nestled in the beautiful mountains of Lake Lure.  In addition to horseback riding, they offer pony rides for children, gem mining, fishing and packing trips.

Blue Ridge Parkway Named "America's Favorite Drive" the Blue Ridge Parkway is 469 miles connecting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia.  The Parkway has stunning views, abundant hiking trails, picnic areas, campsites and ample recreational opportunities from all ages and abilities.
Flat Rock Playhouse The Flat Rock Playhouse, officially designated The State Theatre of North Carolina, is located in the quaint village of Flat Rock.  The playhouse has an eight month season of plays including Broadway musicals, comedy, drama and theatre for young audiences.
Tryon Resort and International Equestrian Center Tryon Resort is a 1,400-acre retreat located in the rolling foothills of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountain Range. Historic  Downtown Hendersonville Historic Downtown Hendersonville was entered into the National Register of Historic Places in March 1988.  You will find specialty shops, antique stores and restaurants.  Downtown hosts many activities including the NC Apple Festival, art show, car shows and parades.
Black Mountain Walk through the historic downtown and discover numerous unique gift shops, antique shops, galleries, and Appalachian-style craft stores, with local craftsmen often demonstrating iron works, dulcimer making, and throwing pottery.
Western NC Nature Center The Nature Center offers a main exhibit building, petting area, educational farm, predator habitat, otter habitat, nocturnal hall and a nature trail..  There are programs, demonstrations and hands-on activities for everyone who is interested in the animals of the Southern Appalachian region.
Carl Sandburg Home This National Historic Site offers a keen insight into Mr. Sandburg, his family and their 240 acre working farm.  The home was built in 1838 and now houses his collection of books, notes and papers.  The home offers daily tours and has numerous hiking trails.
Colburn Earth Science Museum Western North Carolina's only earth science museum, the Colburn offers a hall of minerals, history of WNC mining exhibit, weather climate exhibit, cut gemstones, fossils and a gift shop.
Asheville Art Museum A permanent collection of 20th and 21st century American art.  Special exhibitions feature renowned regional and national artists .
North Carolina Arboretum Experience the Arboretum's gardens, trails, exhibits, shows, educational programs, demonstrations and lectures for all ages.  434 acres with 65 acres of cultivated gardens and 10 miles of hiking and biking trails.
Smiley's Flea Market North Carolina's largest flea market with over 1,000 spaces and something for everyone.
Blue Heron White Water Rafting Blue Heron Whitewater is the closest French Broad River whitewater rafting outfitter to Asheville NC. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Carter Lodge is situated along the Rocky Broad River between Chimney Rock Village and spectacular Lake Lure. The Carter Lodge is within walking distance of Chimney Rock Village for shopping, dining and site seeing, and just minutes from Lake Lure.

The Carter Lodge provides a splendid view of Chimney Rock.  You are welcome to relax out back by the river, trout fish, tube or raft on the river. Swings and barbeque grills are provided.
